It doesn't make much sense for Cheng to lie about something like this. What the fuck good is there in lying about a robotic bee? All the same, it seems fucking bizarre and not just because Ronan's spent so much of the past several years dreaming up ways to resist actual bees.
And his father was dreaming new ones. Mechanical ones.
"So what did it do?" he asks, curiosity getting the better of him now. "Was it like a pet? I never saw you with it at Aglionby."
Then again, for that Ronan would've had to have actually been at Aglionby and paying attention.
