Adam smiled, somehow fond despite it all. He shifted a little, just enough that Ronan's head was pillowed on his thigh. It wasn't much rest and it wasn't much protection, but Adam made himself believe that this was all Ronan needed to ensure a safe dream.

In this position, Ronan was the creator, the sleeping god. Adam was his meager protector.
